Education
Sep 2011 to present Anglia Ruskin University
Chelmsford
BSc Hons Midwifery
I am currently studying Midwifery. With this course it includes time in university doing coursework, time in the skills lab practicing and learning techniques and time on placement. The time on placement is extreemly valuable as I am able to work alongside another midwife so I can learn her skills. I am also able to put my training into practice and work with the women and their families. Some of my days range from 8 to 13 hour shifts. My placement base is at the Southend University Hospital.
Sep 2008 till May 2010 The Plume School 6th Form College
Maldon
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in ChildCare.
From this course I undertook the Cache diploma, this course enabled me to get the qualifications to work at a higher level in child care and is the equivalent to 3 A levels.
On this course alongside the coursework I had to attend a placement for 2 days a week and then blocks of a week. These placements were working with either babies, toddlers or children in school, from birth to the age of 16.
Sep 2003 till Jul 2008 The Plume School
Maldon
GCSE’s
At the Plume school I undertook all of the compulsory GCSE’s and then took my four options which were Child Development, Food Technology and Design, Art and Design and ICT. These GCSE’s enabled me to gain a good insight into basic development of children, how to prepare food safely and gave me a good knowledge of how to use a computer.
Employment History
Feb 2009 till Present Barmaid
The Fox and Hounds
Cock Clarks
I started in the kitchen as I was too young to work on the bar. This included washing up, waitressing and making the desserts. Once I was old enough I stared to work on the bar and continue to waitress.
Jun 2011 till Aug 2011 Children’s Sessional Worker
The YMCA
Chelmsford
I worked as a children’s sessional worker which involved me setting up small sessions around the Chelmsford area. These sessions allowed parents to bring their children to a free activity. I would help the parents interact with the children using different styled activities such as music, messy play and construction play. Before each session I would need to plan the activities and match them to the theme that week and work along side the EYFS.
Jan 2010 till Aug 2011 The Monkey Puzzle

I worked in lots of different ways for this company. I hosted children’s parties, worked on the equipment, worked on the reception, lead the staff in the kitchen and in the evening hosted teen and adult parties.

From completing a GCSE in ICT I have been able to use various softwares such as; Microsoft Work, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Internet Explorer, Hotmail.
